Carrie knew that she wanted to work in agriculture, specifically for the government. Her family raised beef cattle in Russell Springs, and many of her family members were in the armed forces. Both of those aspects paved the way for her career.
Laura Knoth is the Executive Director for the Kentucky Corn Growers and the Kentucky Small Grain Growers and has held this position since 2010. Prior to that, Laura served as Public Affairs and Program Director at the Kentucky Farm Bureau from 1991-2010.
Adam has been KyCorn’s program director for 11 years, where he manages the association’s membership, market development, and farmer leadership programs. He also organizes and mobilizes KyCorn’s grassroots base, which means he encourages farmer members to get involved in policy issues and public affairs.
Becky’s primary education responsibilities include developing and presenting lessons about soybeans to students and working with teachers interested in teaching soybeans. She also manages the regional research program, serves on various committees and agriculture organizations, and performs general office duties.
While women had been in 4-H and Family and Consumer Science agent roles for quite some time, Carol was one of the first female Agriculture agents in Kentucky. She came from a farming family in Hardin County and studied Agriculture Economics – Farm Management at the University of Kentucky.
Even though his official job title is futures broker, Boyd Brooks, a Cynthiana native, says he is truly a risk management specialist who helps farmers turn a profit in an industry of financial uncertainty.
Mandy Bryant is the owner of Long Vue Farms and has played every role, big and small while running her operation. She grew up on her family farm, and her love for agriculture has been lifelong.
Dr. Carl Bradley is a plant pathologist at the University of Kentucky. In his role, he studies diseases in field crops (corn, soybeans, and wheat), researches ways to manage those diseases, and then passes the information on to farmers across the commonwealth.
Carrie Knott, a Daviess County native, thought after high school, she would get an associate’s degree and enter the workforce. A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and Ph.D. later, she is working as an extension agronomist for the University of Kentucky.
Alex Campbell is the Assistant Manager of Farm and Finance at Long Vue Farms. Alex has had a passion for agriculture since high school when she joined her local FFA chapter while also working with her family's cattle herd and helping friends and family set tobacco each year.
