How long have you been with your organization, and what other roles have you held?
“I will be employed here for 7 years next month! I also am on an Advisory Council board for Cecilia/Valley Elementary and currently serve as the Reporter for KACDE.”
How did you become interested in agriculture/working in agriculture?
“I was raised on a farm and married a farmer!”
Describe your job and duties. What is your favorite part of your job?
“As the District Coordinator, you have many jobs. Answer telephone for the whole office, do reports as needed, and submit monthly, quarterly, and yearly taxes. Work with farmers and landowners on SCS and Eqip. I work in the school system very often. We also do the Jim Claypool Art and Writing Contest. When I started 7 years ago, we had 5 students who entered, and this past year, we had 50! My favorite part of my job is working with the kids!”
What would you have done differently if you knew you would have ended up in this career?
“Maybe taken some computer classes for Excel!”
What advice would you give to young people looking for an agriculture career?
“There are many different fields that have an Agriculture background. Search all the different choices before making a final decision.”
